BELMAR, NJ – On Thursday, May 23rd, Councilwoman Maria Rondinaro led a spirited spring cleanup at the Belmar Housing Authority located at 710 8th Ave, focusing on beautifying the environment for the community's seniors. Despite the day's wet conditions, the event was a success, thanks to the collective efforts of local volunteers and housing authority staff.

The cleanup activities included clearing the walkways and entrances, weeding along the front retaining wall, and sanding outdoor furniture in preparation for repainting. These enhancements promise to improve the daily experiences of the housing authority's senior residents. "I'd like to thank the dedicated volunteers that came out to help us," said Rondinaro. She also expressed gratitude towards BHA Executive Director Paul DeSantis, Superintendent Mike Carr, and BHA Commissioner Ellen Ramey for their support and participation.

"These residents are especially dear to me, and I hope we can continue showing them, by community volunteerism and advocacy, how dear they are to us," she stated. The cleanup demonstrated the community's commitment to enhancing the living conditions of its older members, highlighting the power of volunteerism in bringing about positive change.

The event not only focused on immediate cleanup tasks but also set a tone for ongoing community involvement and care for Belmar's senior population. Councilwoman Rondinaro and other community leaders hope this event will inspire continued efforts to make Belmar a more beautiful and accommodating place for all its residents.
