WAYNE, NJ – On Monday, we celebrate and remember our family, friends and fellow Americans who laid down their lives for our county, for us and for future generations. In Wayne Township, each year, a parade is held to recognize this special day, and throughout the years it has grown. And every year, Wayne residents flock to the sides of Valley Road to watch the show go by.

Residents are reminded to get to the parade early, before all the curb space is taken.

The 2024 Memorial Day Parade starts at 10:00am on Monday, May 27, beginning at the Ramapo Shopping Center, and running down Valley Road all the way to Wayne Town Hall. Here a stage will be set for dignitaries and special guests to listen to the speeches that will be given when the parade is over – approximately at 11:30am.

This year’s Parade Grand Marshall is US Army Veteran, Specialist/Team Leader Lionel Torres-Bush, a Wayne Valley High School graduate and current Wayne resident. He will address the crowd at the end of the parade. It will be a special moment, as he will be honoring the man who set the example of service for him – his late father, the former Captain and Deputy Chief of the Passaic County Prosecutor’s Office James "Jim" Bush, who passed away last week.

    Road Closures

Valley Road will be closed on Monday, May 27 from 9am-1pm between French Hill Road/Riverview Drive and the Hamburg Turnpike. No parking will be permitted from 7am-1pm on the following streets:
