"We are deeply grateful for the service and sacrifices of our military personnel and first responders," Mayor John Coiro said. "Today's events remind us of the importance of honoring their legacy and coming together as a community to support one another."

"Every year we gather here to pay respect to the people who sacrificed their lives for our country, not only firefighters domestic-wise but in our nation's military," Fire Chief Richard Shopperth said. "Thanks to all of those sacrifices they've made, we are a free country."

Following the ceremony, the Memorial Day Parade kicked off from the Municipal Building, proceeding down Crews Street and Union Boulevard, and passing the post office. The parade featured a vibrant array of participants, including the Totowa Police Department, Fire Department, Passaic County Sheriff's Department, Totowa Police Athletic League (PAL), and the Passaic Valley Marching Band. Various local businesses and community organizations also joined the procession, adding to the festive atmosphere.

The parade was a visual and auditory spectacle, with the Passaic Valley Marching Band delivering stirring musical performances and the Totowa Fire Department showcasing their impressive fire trucks.
