    US & World Report Ranks Millburn High School #2 in Essex County, 19th in New Jersey

    MILLBURN, NJ -- US & World Report has released its 2024 high school rankings , and Millburn High School (MHS) is 19th in the state, which is the same rank it earned in 2023. A total of 416 high schools in New Jersey were evaluated for the study.

    Criteria includes how many students take at least one AP exam, how many passed at least one AP exam, mathematics proficiency, reading proficiency, science proficiency and graduation rates.

    MHS' exact overall grade actually increased by .55 from last year's 97.42% to this year's 97.97%.

    MHS ranked #2 in Essex County.

    Here are the five top Essex County schools (in order):

    • Glen Ridge
    • Millburn
    • Livingston
    • Columbia
    • Verona

    College Readiness Index Rank, in which MHS is 25 in the state and 412 nationally.

    College Curriculum Breadth Index Ranks, where MHS scored 20 in NJ and 313 in the US.

    State Assessment Proficiency Rank, MHS is 18 in NJ and 767 in the US.

    State Assessment Performance Rank, MHS scored 31 in NJ and tied at 1,328 in the US.

    Graduation Rate Rank, MHS was 132 (tied) in NJ and 4,320 (tie) in the country.

    Charter, magnet and technical schools are ranked in the same category as public schools.
