RED BANK, NJ: The Red Bank community is rallying together once again to make sure no child goes cold this winter.

The local Knights of Columbus Council is thrilled to announce that they’ve reached the halfway mark of their $3,000 fundraising goal for the 2024 ‘Coats for Kids’ campaign.

Thanks to generous donations, they’ve already purchased 72 brand-new jackets that will be distributed to children in need.

“Although summer is still here, preparations for the coat drive are in full swing. The need in our community is real: in the eight years this program has been running, every coat has found a home.”

“While it’s encouraging to know that every child who needed a coat received one, it’s a reminder of how important this program is - and why continued donations are crucial,” said Thomas R. Wieczerzak, Deacon, Knights of Columbus.

The first coat distribution of the season is scheduled for Sunday, September 29, from 10am to 12pm at the St. James Parish Meeting Room off Broad Street .

To meet the growing demand and ensure no child is left without a warm coat, additional funds are needed.

The Knights of Columbus are calling on the community to help them reach their goal. Donations can be made online at https://www.kofc525.org/coats-for-kids/ , or by check made out to KofC Council #525 (please note ‘Coats for Kids’ in the memo line).
