With more than 450 businesses located within Randolph, it’s clear that business is a vital part of our community.  From regional and national companies such as Wendy’s, Midas, Weis Markets and CVS to locally owned small, independent businesses such as the Randolph Diner, John Herold Jewelers and Simply Gourmet catering. Randolph is home to many successful, thriving businesses, which fall into many different business categories, such as manufacturing, medical, retail, leisure, recreation, restaurants and financial.

In support of our local businesses, the Township Council several years ago created an advisory committee, the Economic Development Committee (EDC).  Comprised of ten volunteer members, who are appointed by the Council, they are charged with promoting sound economic development within the Township and recommending pro-business policies, programs and projects to the Township Council. Several small business owners serve on the committee. As an indication of how valuable we view business in Randolph, both the Mayor and the Township Manager are liaisons to the EDC and attend all committee meetings.

The EDC is a very active committee.  It has established its own website, randolphlocal.com, and offers no cost promotion opportunities for businesses to promote their presence, vision, services and products through a monthly “Business Spotlight”. The EDC is also very active on social media platforms, frequently posting messages about Randolph businesses.

As part of their effort to encourage and facilitate the process of doing business within Randolph, the EDC developed a new ‘Business Welcome Packet’, which is a comprehensive guide for businesses interested in starting up, expanding, or relocating in Randolph Township.

The packet features vital information for businesses, covering important topics such as community demographics, site selection, zoning and construction requirements, land use boards, utility information, community support services, and more. Additionally, the packet highlights the many invaluable business resources available in Morris County.  It is designed to be a “one-stop” resource for businesses, entrepreneurs, and potential developers planning to navigate the process of maintaining, growing, and/or relocating in the community.

In recent years, the Randolph Township Council has also become more proactive in reaching out to new businesses and welcoming them to Randolph by holding ribbon cutting events, along with members of the Randolph Area Chamber of Commerce and the EDC.  In 2023, Randolph proudly welcomed approximately a dozen new businesses during their official grand opening events. So far in 2024, we have already celebrated grand opening events for 15 new small businesses in Randolph, which are GolfCave indoor golf facility, Good Life Yoga Studio, the Exotic Sweet Shop, SIP Abacus education center, La Delicias de Triny restaurant, Lyttle Dream Team Realty, Smartikos high tech services, Salus Per Aquam Spa, Max’s Electric Bikes, Paradise Farm camp, Taste of Ukraine Bakery, the Randolph Athletic Club, G&D Bagel and Pizza, Kallos Event Space and El Parche Café and Restaurant.  Many other small businesses have opened their doors in Randolph in 2024 and there are many more coming, including Zola’s Italian Restaurant, Cream and Sugar coffee shop and fast food restaurants Sonic and Taco Bell.  We look forward to having these and other new businesses in our community.

Randolph has a strong and welcoming pro-business culture.  Our existing business community and governing body has established Randolph as a Township that new businesses want to invest in, and existing businesses want to grow in.

I encourage all residents to shop local and support our Randolph businesses.

Let’s keep business booming in Randolph.
