By SAM LANCE NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. — Top-25 class of 2026 prospect Keiner Asprilla has heard mostly from Auburn, LSU, Providence and Villanova since the contact period opened up on June 15, he told ZAGSBLOG. Asprilla — the 7-foot, 270-pound big man out of Don Bosco Prep (NJ) and the New York Renaissance Nike EYBL AAU program — has taken an unofficial visit to Providence. He has not seen any other schools at this point in the process. “I liked the school,” Asprilla said of the visit. “I liked the coaches. They were cool with me. I like the coach [Kim English] a lot. That was just a great area. It was nice when I was there.” At this point in the process, Asprilla noted he hasn’t had many in depth conversations with coaches, nor does he know much about the individual programs. “I don’t be talking to them like that,” Asprilla said. “But we be in contact.” Asprilla holds offers from nine schools including Auburn, Bryant, Kansas, Kansas State, LSU, Northern Illinois, Seton Hall, UCF and Villanova. Kansas is his most recent offer on Aug. 7. He gave some brief thoughts on the programs in contact with him most. Auburn: “I like Tahaad Pettiford. That’s all I know about Auburn right now.” He has had a conversation with head coach Bruce Pearl. LSU: “I don’t know much about them, but I do know about Shaquille O’Neal. I know about him.” Villanova: “I know Mark Armstrong. He’s from Jersey. I know him.” Armstrong played at Villanova last season and participated in the NBA Summer League with the Brooklyn Nets this summer. At Peach Jam, Asprilla averaged 7.0 points and 8.0 rebounds in 18.6 minutes per game. The 7-footer also shot 54.8% from the field and totaled six blocks over five games. He helped the Renaissance to a 3-2 pool play record, but the squad did not make the final Peach Jam bracket. Asprilla’s best game of the tournament came against the Indy Heat. In that contest he had a double-double with 14 points and 13 rebounds while shooting 7-of-12 from the field. He also had two blocks and played just 22 minutes. “I’ve been working so hard for this moment and I just have to show out,” Asprilla said of his performance at Peach Jam. “I just do my job for my teammates, all of that.” Asprilla is ranked the No. 23 overall prospect in the 2026 class by 247Sports and the No. 1 overall center. Asprilla is of Colombian nationality. He also loves soccer. “I used to play,” Asprilla said. “That’s my favorite sport.
