School board meets for July
ELIZABETHTOWN – The Bladen County School Board met last Monday and they received brief updates on the Franklin Covey leadership program and pushed through their resolution in support for prioritizing public schools. The School Board unanimously agreed to table the Franklin Covey leadership program for pre k through eighth grade until they receive more details on the cost and what the district has to pay out of their pockets.

The Tulsa Initiative Inc has been awarded an $8,100.00 grant from the Arts Council of Fayetteville/Cumberland County and the North Carolina Arts Council. This grant will support Tulsa Leadership and Entrepreneurship Academy, furthering The Tulsa Initiative Inc’s mission to introduce Black, Indigenous and people of color (BIPOC) to entrepreneurship, mentorship and education to unite and invest in themselves and their communities.
