The fall 2025 school year will be the last at the current iteration of Beverly Shores Elementary School. Lake County Schools has indicated that the school will close down for the 2025-2026 school year as Lake County seeks to replace older buildings from the 1960s and portables which have expanded the capacity of the school.

Heavily intoxicated driver arrested at South Sumter High School
A heavily intoxicated driver was arrested after a traffic stop at South Sumter High School. Jose Saldana-Gonzalez, 49, of Apopka, was driving a vehicle which was swerving when he was pulled over in the wee hours Tuesday at the high school in Bushnell, according to an arrest report from the Sumter County Sheriff’s Office.
