PD: Investigation underway after officer shot, killed person in Taylor Mill

Kentucky State Police are investigating in Taylor Mill after a police officer shot and killed someone Sunday, KSP public information officer David Jones said.

The person shot was pronounced dead on scene, Lt. Justin Bradbury with the Covington Police Department said.

Jones did not say what time the shooting happened but it appears police were initially called at approximately 6 p.m.

The Taylor Mill Police Department said in a statement that officers, with the assistance of the Covington Police Department, responded to a home on Grand Avenue for reports of someone threatening a family member with a knife.

At some point, police fired their guns.

Police have not identified the victim.

This shooting remains under investigation by the Kentucky State Police.
