    Three charged with drug offenses in Christian Co.

    TAYLORVILLE, Ill. (WCIA) — A recent investigation by the Taylorville Police Department resulted in three people being arrested on drug charges.

    Chief Dwayne Wheeler said that over the weekend, the Taylorville Emergency Response Team and the multi-agency Community Action Team served two search warrants. One was served in Stonington and resulted in the arrest of Chad Hull. Another served near Owaneco resulted in the arrest of Christopher Barnes and Danielle Moffitt.

    Hull and Barnes are both charged with possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, Wheeler said. Barnes is also charged with possessing a gun as a felon while Moffitt has an extradition warrant related to drug offenses.

    “I wish to express my deep pride and appreciation for the dedication and coordinated effort displayed by the members of the CAT and ERT teams from Stonington, Kincaid, and Taylorville Police Departments,” Wheeler said. “Their professionalism and commitment were not just exemplary, but instrumental in the success of this operation.”

    Wheeler also thanked the Christian County State’s Attorney for assisting in the investigations and approving the search warrants.
