There were 67 Florida Lottery winners in August, making August the month with the second highest number of winners. February, the month with the fewest days, leads the year with 81 winners.

The biggest Florida winner in August was a $20.5 million Florida Lotto ticket sold at Murphy USA in Kissimmee on Aug. 7.

The biggest winner of the month was a Powerball ticket sold in Pennsylvania on Aug. 12. The ticket was worth $212 million.

Is there a way to increase the odds of winning one of the Florida Lottery games ? Where were all those winning tickets sold? Are your chances higher if you allow the machine to pick your numbers? Does Publix really sell more winning tickets than any other retailer? And what about city; does that count?
