4 Jayhawks Picked on Final Day of 2024 MLB Draft
LAWRENCE, Kan. (KUAthletics.com) – Right-handed pitchers Ethan Lanthier and Tegan Cain, catcher Ben Hartl and left-handed pitcher Evan Shaw were all selected on the third and final day of the MLB Draft on Tuesday. The four Jayhawks drafted brings the total to six Kansas players selected after right-handed pitcher Hunter Cranton and infielder/catcher Kodey Shojinaga were drafted on Monday.

An Emporia man has been formally charged with attempted murder after an alleged incident earlier this week. Justin Colby Barrett, age 34, was charged Wednesday with attempted first-degree murder and six other counts, including three counts of aggravated battery, and single counts of aggravated kidnapping, aggravated child endangerment and criminal threat.
