File photo There are several public pools in the tri-county area of Tehama, Glenn and Colusa counties where residents can go to cool off in the heat wave cooking the upper Sacramento Valley over the next couple of weeks.
The heat is on and so is the fun at the Teddy Pohler Memorial Pool in Corning with swim lessons starting last week and running through Aug. 2.
Same could be said for the Orland City Pool at 120 Roosevelt Ave., which opened its doors June 8. The pool features a low and high dive board, and on Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays the aqua track is open.
Orland’s lap swim and aqua aerobics is $3 per class, with classes Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday 6-7 p.m.
Pool hours are:
Monday-Friday Open Swim 1-5 p.m.
Tuesday and Thursday Evening Swim 7:30-9:30p.m.
Saturday Open Swim 11 a.m.-5 p.m.
The pool is available for private pool rentals on Friday and Saturday evenings from 5:30-8:30 p.m. and Sundays between 12-8 p.m.
