Vol Baseball Top Signee Anson Seibert To Pitch At Tennessee Instead Of Signing Professionally
Tennessee baseball signee Anson Seibert will make it to campus and not sign professionally with the Detroit Tigers, the Johnson County Post first reported. The Tigers selected Seibert, top rated signee in Tennessee baseball’s highly touted 2024 signing class, in the 16th round of the 2024 MLB Draft last week. However, the right-handed pitcher still plans on playing college baseball at Tennessee while postponing his professional career.
Tennessee Catcher Cal Stark Signs Undrafted Free Agent Deal With Home State Team
The Texas Rangers signed Tennessee catcher Cal Stark to an undrafted free agent deal on Monday, KnoxNews Mike Wilson first reported and Stark confirmed to RTI. Stark was already out of eligibility after playing his first two college seasons at Weatherford Community College in Texas and his final two seasons at Tennessee. Stark started 89 games behind the plate in two seasons with Tennessee. He battled for the starting job both early in the 2023 and 2024 seasons and won the competition both times.

BLOUNT COUNTY, Tenn — The first Black woman to be exonerated of a crime in the state is speaking in East Tennessee this week. Joyce Watkins is the featured speaker at back-to-back events hosted by the Tennessee Innocence Project, a nonprofit organization that focuses on exonerating people who've been convicted of a crime they never committed.
