    Tempe Union bands, professional musicians perform April 26

    Spend a spring night in the open air enjoying performances by bands from all six Tempe Union High School District schools accompanied by professional musicians from Arizona Wind Symphony and The Academy at Music Under the Stars on April 26, 7:30-9 p.m. at Tempe Diablo Stadium.

    Doors open at 7 p.m. with a mariachi and steel drum pre-show, a city release stated.

    Music Under the Stars is a celebration of local concert and marching bands, combining high school students and local professional musicians. The free event offers an inclusive community atmosphere where everyone can enjoy live music free of charge, the release explained.

    Concession stands and food trucks will be open to purchase food, drinks and adult beverages. Parking is available for free. Animals are not permitted in the stadium except for certified service dogs for individuals with disabilities.

    Participating high school ensembles are Corona del Sol Band, Corona del Sol Steel Drum Band, Desert Vista Band, Desert Vista Steel Drum Band, Marcos de Niza Band, Marcos de Niza Mariachi Ensemble, McClintock Band, Mountain Pointe Band and Tempe High Band.

    These nine bands will be accompanied by members of Arizona Wind Symphony and The Academy Drum and Bugle Corps, according to the release.

    Music Under the Stars is a partnership between Tempe Community Arts, Tempe Union High School District, Arizona Wind Symphony and The Academy.
