88th Irvin Cobb Championships get underway Saturday
PADUCAH, Ky. -- A longtime tradition in western Kentucky continues Saturday when the Irvin Cobb Championships tee off at Paxton Park. "We’ve got a stacked field with a lot of good players so again, it’ll come down to the wire and be a lot of guys in contention," Golf Pro Danny Mullen said. "We’ve got a number of amateurs and a number of pros I think it’s like 58 amateurs and 38 pros and usually they’re good players every one of them. Very few come here and play in this event who can’t play so it’s interesting to see who gets it going this weekend because many of them are capable of winning and they enjoy the camaraderie and the competition."
