April brought positive news for employment across Tennessee, with all 95 counties reporting lower unemployment rates, each clocking in at or below 4.1%, as per the latest data released by the Department of Labor and Workforce Development

Chattanooga, TN – According to the state officials, leading the pack was Williamson County, boasting the state’s lowest unemployment rate at a mere 2%, marking a 0.2 percentage point decline from March’s 2.2%.

Following closely, Sevier County secured the second-lowest rate in April, standing at 2.1%, down by 0.4 percentage points compared to the previous month.

While Clay and Lauderdale counties still held the distinction of Tennessee’s highest unemployment rates, both saw significant decreases, remaining below the 5% mark.

Clay County registered a rate of 4.1%, marking a 0.4 percentage point drop, while Lauderdale County’s rate also decreased by 0.4 percentage points in April.

Bledsoe County trailed closely behind with the second-highest jobless rate at 3.9%, representing a 0.3 percentage point decline from its March figure.
