Before you head to the show, here are a few things you might not know about the country artist.

    Tennessee Native

Chesney is a Tennessee native. Born in Knoxville and raised in Luttrell, he is one of many country artists from East Tennessee, like Dolly Parton, Morgan Wallen, and Kelsea Ballerini.

His Music Career Started with a College Band

While a student at East Tennessee University, Chesney became part of a college band and began writing songs and performing at local bars. After graduation in 1991, he moved to Nashville. He landed his first record deal in 1993 with Capricorn Records.

    No Shoes Nation

Chesney named his fan club “No Shoes Nation” after his hit song “No Shoes, No Shirt, No Problem,” was released in 2003. There’s even a station on SiriusXM called No Shoes Radio featuring the country artist.

    Top Touring Act

His “Here and Now” Tour was listed by Pollstar at #5 for Total Gross and #3 for Tickets Sold/People Played to in authoritative touring trade POLLSTAR ’s Year End issue in 2022. For total gross, with his fan friendly prices, Kenny landed behind Bad Bunny, Elton John’s Farewell Tour , the Def Lepard/Motley Crue stadium extravaganza and Harry Styles residency-heavy world tour in fifth place. When measured by fans played to, the East Tennessee songwriter/superstar comes in at #3, behind #1 over all Bad Bunny and Def Lepard/Motley Crue tour.

Chesney Launched Blue Chair Bay Rum

The country artist launched Blue Chair Bay Rum in 2013. The brand has won myriad medals at some of the most competitive tasting and cocktail competitions in the nation. For the “Sun Goes Down” tour, they launched a new Lime Rum. With sales of over 200,000 cases annually, it’s easily one of the most successful independent spirits launches this decade.

He Just Celebrated His 33rd Number One Hit

In June, “Take Her Home” rose to the top of the charts making it the 33rd number one hit for the country artist. On Saturday night, Chesney is expected to perform that song along with favorites like “Summertime,” “American Kids,” and more.

Fun Facts about Sun Goes Down Tour

The tour stage is 62 yards wide – 186 feet – and 24 2/3 yards deep – 74 feet – it’s a massive amount of ground to cover, whether it’s Chesney on foot or the computer-operated lighting panels. The tour will move 29,467 miles – per vehicle – this year.
