Possible showers, relief from scorching temperatures expected over next few days

HURRICANE BERYL UPDATE: Beryl is a tropical storm as of 7pm from the NHC with max winds of 70 miles per hour. The storm continues to strengthen as it moves onto the US mainland. Beryl is likely to be upgraded shortly to a category 1 hurricane before landfall. Landfall will occur around 4AM in Texas and then the storm will weaken as it moves inland. Storms will spread north but the overall track and heavy shield of rain look to have shifted West of the Mid-South.

Storms will be possible Monday evening into Tuesday. As well as throughout parts of Tuesday. Track and strength will matter greatly as we continue to forecast the timing of the storms. Please check with current data and meteorologist for rain chances. Hurricanes are notorious for changing tracks and bringing more or much less rain than expected depending on timing and track.

TONIGHT: Mostly cloudy and warm. Some isolated showers overnight. No thunderstorms expected. Low of 75 degrees. Winds Calm. MONDAY: Mostly cloudy with a chance of a few scattered showers throughout the day. Scattered thunderstorms begin to develop after 7pm and continue through early Tuesday morning. The high will be near 90 degrees. Winds will increase a bit into the evening. High of 90 degrees. Winds NW 5-15mph. TUESDAY: A few strong thunderstorms during the morning and into the afternoon. Shower chances go down later in the evening, with only an isolated shower possible. High of 85 degrees. Winds SW 10-20mph. WEDNESDAY: A shower early in the morning with clouds clearing throughout the day. Sunshine later in the evening. High of 88 degrees. Winds NW 5-10mph. THURSDAY: Sunny skies and turning hot. High of91 degrees. Winds Calm.
