Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian, wife Loreal, announce divorce

After four years of marriage, Texas football coach Steve Sarkisian and his wife Loreal Sarkisian are calling it quits.

The Sarkisians officially announced their intention to amicably divorce on both their Instagram accounts. The decision apparently followed significant discussion on behalf of both celebrities, and doubtlessly had something to do with the lifestyle of elite coaches across college football.

As noted in the Instagram post released by both, the pair were first married in 2020. Loreal is Steve Sarkisian's second wife, following a nine-year marriage with Stephanie Sarkisian, which yielded three children, including Texas football player Brady Sarkisian.

The dissolution of the Sarkisian marriage would also seem to spell the end of Loreal Sarkisian's run as the "first lady of Texas football." A fashion stylist, Loreal Sarkisian was known for sporting elaborate, Texas-themed outfits on game day and for special Texas football occasions. She also allegedly styled her husband's game day outfits on a number of occasions.

Like Steve Sarkisian, Loreal had history with the University of Southern California, where she had previously served as a track and field coach at USC following a collegiate starring role at North Carolina A&T University. The two married while Sarkisian was serving as offensive coordinator at the University of Alabama, and the pair moved together to Austin when Sarikisian was hired as Texas' head coach.
