WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — ¡VIVA MEXICO! It’s a phrase most people shout at any fiesta, including good food and Mexican music, but what does it actually mean?

ANNOUNCEMENT: Brooks running for City Council District 2

The phrase often expresses patriotism and pride in Mexico, solidarity with Mexican culture, and love for the Mexican heritage. What better way to celebrate than at the “El Grito” Festival 2024 in Downtown Wichita Falls?

Coming to celebrate with and for the people, the “El Grito” Festival will hit the streets of downtown Wichita Falls on Saturday, Sept. 14, at Indiana Avenue from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m.

The festival will capture Mexican culture with live music from Los Lost Boyz, a live DJ, local food vendors, a car show, entertainment, and more.

With Hispanic Heritage Month approaching, Wichita Falls and its nonprofit or for-profit businesses always celebrate by showcasing and showing love to the Hispanic community through events like this one. Hispanic Heritage Month takes place from September 15 to October 15, 2024.

If you want to register your hot ride for the car show or be a vendor at the “El Grito” Festival, call (940) 285-5189 .

Entry will be $10, and children 12 and under can get in for free .

Make sure to come out and support events like this that help the community come together and allow Wichita Falls to grow.
