TYLER, Texas ( KETK ) – The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has announced that they’ve brought several new features to their hunting and fishing app like Chronic Wasting Disease zones.

The app, formerly known as My Texas Hunt Harvest, is now called Texas Hunt & Fish. According to TPWD, it will retain all the old features but have an updated look.

Annual Public Hunt Permit holders can use the app to complete the reporting requirements for animals like wild turkey, white-tailed deer, and alligator gar, but digital license holders must use the app for digital tags on deer, turkey, oversized red drum, and spotted seatrout.

TPWD provided the following list of app features:

    • Online and offline functionality—once the app has been installed and your account is connected, you can use it regardless of data service.
    • Connect and display your hunting and fishing license (note that paper license holders must still carry physical tags when pursuing tagged species.)
    • Perform mandatory hunt harvest reporting for wild turkey, white-tailed deer and alligator gar.
    • Digitally tag harvested game and fish (requires purchase of an appropriate digital hunting and/or fishing license.)
    • Track and view your harvest history.
    • Perform electronic onsite registration (eOSR) for many public hunt areas.
    • Download maps of many public hunt areas for use with or without data service.
    • View CWD Zone boundaries and, with location service enabled, determine your position in relation to the nearest zone.
    • Show Chronic Wasting Disease zones near your hunting spot as of 2023-2024.
    • Reportar su cosecha en español o en inglés — report your harvest in English or Spanish.

Harvests can also be reported without the app on the TPWD’s harvest data website . To learn more about the app, visit the TPWD online .
