WICHITA FALLS ( KFDX/KJTL ) — It was a frightening few minutes for employees of a fast food restaurant and a resident when Wichita Falls police say an ex-employee brandished a large knife and threatened people.

Police say the suspect, Martez Walker, fled the restaurant on July 21 and was not located until a month later in a city park after legal hours.

Cops were dispatched to the Taco Bell at 2512 Kemp about a man inside with a knife threatening people.

A victim told officers he had followed the suspect from his home on Buchanan after finding him loitering and looking into his cars. The suspect took off running. The victim said he saw him go into the Taco Bell, and when he went in, the man had a large hunting knife out.

An employee said he recognized Walker as a former employee and said Walker pointed the knife at the victim and yelled at him.

Police say the video showed Walker coming in, looking out the windows, and crouching in a hallway. When the victim enters and looks around, they say Walker started toward him with the knife over his head.

Employees escorted the victim and hid him behind the service counter, and police say Walker went to the counter and paced back and forth until leaving.

Walker was arrested Aug. 22 at Bridwell Park after closing hours when police said he had a backpack with baggies containing 142 grams of meth.
