WICHITA COUNTY ( KFDX/KJTL ) — A man is in custody and facing several felony charges after authorities say he jumped out of his car with a knife following a high-speed chase.

The chase started at around 9:35 p.m. on Wednesday in Holliday. Sheriff Jack Curd said the man was wanted for violating his bond conditions and a protective order.

He said that’s why a sergeant with the Archer County Sheriff’s Office pulled up behind the man and turned on his lights before the man took off at speeds of around 100 miles per hour.

Sheriff Curd says the chase continued on Highway 82 into Wichita Falls, and then the Wichita County Sheriff’s Office successfully deployed spikes at Fairway Boulevard.

The man made it to the Lawrence Road overpass, but then his car ended up in the median in that area.

The sheriff said when the man got out of the car with a knife, he was tased and then taken into custody.
