A major pattern shift heads our way
After another afternoon of extremely warm temperatures and increased humidity, there’s finally a light at the end of the tunnel. We initially though Roanoke had hit another high of 103° Tuesday afternoon, however, The National Weather Service has determined the sensors at the Roanoke-Blacksburg Airport were faulty today and they aren’t certain we got quite that hot. So far, the official reading for the high was 100°. Technicians are headed out to repair the sensors Wednesday and we’ll know more.

ROANOKE, Va. (WDBJ) - A new approach to lower gun violence in Roanoke was discussed in Tuesday’s Gun Violence Prevention Commission meeting. To help reduce violent crimes, Roanoke’s Gun Violence Commission introduced the Gun Violence Intervention Program, or GVI. This program focuses on direct engagement with group members involved in incidents of serious violence.
