    Public invited to free mental health conference in Abilene on Friday and Saturday

    The public is invited to attend the second annual Pathways to Hope Conference to discuss solutions for people living with mental health conditions in the Big Country.

    The free, two-day event aims to educate and create a movement between the National Alliance on Mental Illness Abilene and community partners to educate, advocate and build sustainable coalitions to support people living with mental health conditions.

    The conference is scheduled 9 a.m.-4 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Grace Fellowship, 910 Cypress St. Doors open at 8 a.m. on both days.

    During the conference, attendees will hear speeches and attend workshops that highlight the role of faith and spirituality in supporting those with mental health conditions.

    Workshops will be centered around topics of mental health, peer support, therapy and counseling, faith and community and mental health with youth and young adults.
