Taylor County Republicans get all aboard the 'Trump Train'

Taylor County Republicans organized their second "Trump Train" Saturday for the 2024 election season, promising to have more in the coming weeks.

A mix of more than a dozen pickups, sedans and SUVs flying flags in support of the former president and current Republican presidential candidate drove a wide-ranging route through Abilene for three hours, ending at their party's "Get Out the Vote" headquarters at 1477 S. Danvlle Drive.

Organizers pledged to hold more caravans, urging those interested to reach out to the Abilene HQ for details.

Typically, they say they'll meet on Saturdays in the Taylor County Courthouse parking lot beneath the veteran statue at 3 p.m.

Those interested in becoming a "MAGA Door Knocker" can meet at the HQ every Saturday from 9 a.m.-noon for training and marching orders.
