Paper Circle seeks entries for upcoming exhibit
Paper Circle is proud to announce its first senior citizen art exhibit, the Growing Wiser Exhibition. Growing older is a privilege, one valued at Paper Circle. Meeting set to discuss organizing countywide NAACP chapter
At the request of Athens County residents, the Ohio Conference of Branches of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), will hold an organizational meeting to start the process of chartering an adult Unit in the community. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. Monday, June 3, at the Ohio University Inn and Conference Center located at 331 Richland Ave., Athens. The Athens County community must have at least 100 people to join the NAACP in order to be officially chartered. There will be an election of temporary officers during the meeting. The moderator will be NAACP Image Award winning Dr. Derrick L. Foward, President of the Dayton Unit NAACP and Trainer and Compliance Officer for the Ohio Conference NAACP. Mural's completion to be celebrated on Friday
Athens County Children Services invites the public to a celebration of its mural on the underpass of US 33 over East State Street. An unveiling and ribbon-cutting will be held at 10 a.m. Friday at the agency’s front lawn which is accessible from the parking lot or sidewalk on East State Street. State Route 78 designation will be recognized at ceremony
