Just as soon as it closed last November, fans of Spirit Halloween were ready for it to reopen. Those in the Augusta area won't have to wait much longer.

The seasonal store reported on its website that it will open this September at a new location in the Augusta Exchange. It will be at 245 Robert C. Daniel Junior Parkway, which used to be the Christmas Tree Shop before the chain went out of business last summer . While an exact date has not been specified, the company's spokesperson Marisa Uzzolino said it will likely be in mid-to-late September.

It's unclear at this time what (if any) other Spirit Halloween locations will open in the area. Documents provided by the company in July indicated Spirit would reopen its stores from last year in the defunct Sears at the Augusta Mall and in the defunct BuyBuy Baby in the Augusta Exchange. Those documents did not list the Christmas Tree Shop location. Spirit has not been able to provide any further updates as of Thursday.

Nevertheless, the new setting will also feature a whole new lineup of Halloween merchandise. This year's new movies will be highlighted with new costumes including outfits for the summer blockbuster "Deadpool and Wolverine," Disney's "Descendants: The Rise of Red," and the huge Pixar sequel "Inside Out 2."

There will also be multiple new animatronics. Here are some of the most eye-catching ones:

    • Victor and Emily from "Corpse Bride" stand 6-feet and 5.8-feet tall, respectively. Both have blinking eyes, swivel by their torsos, and recite phrases from the Tim Burton classic. The two are sold separately with Victory costing about $280 and Emily $300.
    • Towering Tallulah is a witch that, when turned off, sits less than 5-feet tall. However, it can suddenly jump up to nine feet in the air. It's similar to Spirit's very popular Hell Spawn animatronic , but Tallulah rises even higher. It also talks and has glowing eyes. Tallulah costs about $330.
    • Terror Dog from "Ghostbusters" stands about 3-feet tall and 5-feet long. It's a very realistic replica of the classic creature and its eyes glow red. The hellish hound costs about $600.
    • Cotton Candy Dan stands 6.2-feet tall and is a ghoulish clown figure that looks like it's stirring cotton candy, only to have a terrifying head pop out from the cotton candy bucket and scream. The clown also speaks with a moving mouth and glowing eyes with carnival-themed music playing in the background. Cotton costs about $330.

There is a 10% military discount for those who show their ID.

It should be noted that Spirit stores have limited supplies of each item, so if you see something you like online, be sure to get it early. Also, keep in mind, just because an item may be available on Spirit's website does not mean it's in stock at a local Spirit store.
