ELKHART, Ind. – The Michiana Area Council of Governments (MACOG) has announced a temporary suspension of the Interurban Trolley services in Elkhart and Goshen on Memorial Day. Both the fixed route service and the ADA Access service will not be operational on Monday, May 27, in observance of the holiday.

Regular service is set to resume on Tuesday, May 28.

MACOG officials have provided specific instructions for ADA Access riders, who need to plan their transportation in advance. To ensure a smooth ride on Tuesday, May 28, ADA Access riders must schedule their trips by 4 p.m. on Friday, May 24.

Residents who rely on the Interurban Trolley services are advised to make alternative travel arrangements for Memorial Day. The holiday, which honors the men and women who have died while serving in the U.S. military, often sees various community events and activities, making it important for regular users of the trolley to plan ahead.

For more information or assistance with scheduling, MACOG encourages riders to call their office at 574-674-8894. Additionally, detailed transit information is available on the Interurban Trolley website.

The temporary halt in services is a part of MACOG's efforts to observe national holidays and ensure that their staff can also participate in the day of remembrance. The Interurban Trolley, a vital part of the public transportation network in Elkhart and Goshen, plays a crucial role in daily commutes and accessibility for many residents.

Regular updates and service announcements can be found on the Interurban Trolley’s official website, providing the latest information to the community. MACOG appreciates the understanding and cooperation of all riders during this brief interruption.
