South Bend, Indiana — As the new school year begins, transportation issues have sparked frustration among many parents in the South Bend Community School Corporation. With 9,700 students relying on district buses to get to school, the late release of busing information has led to a wave of concern and confusion, which was quickly voiced on social media.

In response to the backlash, school officials are working to address the situation and improve communication with parents. The district is emphasizing its commitment to providing transportation for all students within the updated boundaries, as well as for those attending Magnet schools. However, families with children enrolled in schools outside their designated regions will need to arrange their own transportation.

The district acknowledges the frustration caused by the late notice and is urging parents with questions or concerns to reach out directly via a dedicated hotline at 574-393-7000. By opening lines of communication, the school corporation hopes to ease the transition and ensure a smoother experience for all students and their families as the school year progresses.
