Here are the Yankees and Guardians starting lineups for series opener on Tuesday night

The Yankees continue their fight to be one of the best teams in not only the American League but all of MLB.

Their next battle comes against the Guardians, who are just half a game back of the Yankees for the best record in the AL and lead a highly competitive AL Central division over the Minnesota Twins and Kansas City Royals.

If runaway American League MVP favorite Aaron Judge the Bronx Bombers have a successful series versus Cleveland, it could be the turning point of the second half with a softer schedule as 15 games are against teams not currently in a playoff spot (Rockies, Nationals, Cardinals, Rangers and Cubs).

In the lone meeting earlier this season between the two AL division leaders, the Yankees took two of three games against the Guardians in early April at Progressive Field.

Since the beginning of the 2023 season, the Yankees have held the upper hand in this head-to-head, winning three consecutive series.
