A GoFundMe fundraiser will support a Bogota police officer whose house caught fire on Thursday.

Officer Anthony Montano was on patrol when he received the news from his wife. Everyone in the family is safe and have avoided injury, but the family lost all their belongings in the fire.

The GoFundMe asks if people can donate "whatever you can to help him and his family who both made careers helping others."

The donations are coming in at rapid speed, with nearly $15,000 raised as of Saturday morning. The organizers hope to reach a goal of $40,000.

The Bogota Police Department also shared the fundraiser through its Facebook as some in the comments showed their concern and support. Bogota police did not have additional comment Friday night.

The organizer of the GoFundMe is fellow officer Michael LaFerrera.
