EAST RUTHERFORD - The New York Giants signed 15 players who cleared waivers after to their practice squad on Wednesday.

The Giants are allowed up to 17 players, which accounts for an extra player because they are participating in the International Players Program.

Here are the players who have joined the Giants' practice squad so far: and we'll continue to update:

    Dante "Turbo" Miller, running back

The nickname is earned. "Turbo" is fast. Very fast. And the rookie has been out to prove the blistering 4.27 he ran in the 40-yard dash at South Carolina Pro Day back in March does not define his entire game.

Miller made a serious run at a roster spot and will continue his development on the PS with a chance to move up as a return specialist on kickoffs or on offense sooner than anticipated.

    Jakob Johnson, fullback/tight end

Johnson is a veteran who decided to return to Giants after signing with them late in training camp. He's listed at tight end, but his greatest impact is at fullback in the run game with an ability to also be a core special teamer. Expect him to max out his PS elevations on game day and then sign with the active roster, if not sooner than that.

    Alex Johnson, safety

Johnson has really opened eyes this summer. The UDFA rookie from UCLA made in-roads on the second team, pairing with either Dane Belton or fellow rookie Tyler Nubin, and he showed good instincts despite splitting his time between safety and corner in college. Someone to keep an eye on. He had opportunities elsewhere.

    Ty Summers, linebacker

Summers and his throwback neck roll were here earlier this month with the Lions for the joint practices. He's an inside linebacker who finished the summer strong with Detroit, registering 1.5 sacks and eight tackles in the preseason finale against the Steelers.

    Isaiah Hodgins, wide receiver

Hodgins made a push for the 53, but it's tough to crack the top four spots without being a contributor on special teams. Don't be surprised if he is in the game day mix before too long. He's made plays for this team since his arrival back midseason in 2022.

    Lawrence Cager, tight end

Cager spent the spring and early part of camp looking like he would push for time with the starters. Brian Daboll called him one of the most improved players on the team. Then Cager got hit with the double injury whammy: a hamstring, then groin, and now he is on the PS hoping to get back healthy and contribute.

    Miles Boykin, wide receiver/special teams

Boykin is here because he has been one of the better gunners in punt coverage in the league. Spent the summer as a core special teamer for the Giants and was edged out on the active roster by Bryce Ford-Wheaton, who has more upside within the offense. Still, Boykin could be a factor on game day on specials depending on circumstances.

    K.J. Cloyd, linebacker

Very few observers took notice of Cloyd prior to Saturday night against the Jets. We all know his name now after his 16-tackle performance in the preseason finale.

    Casey Rogers, defensive line

The undrafted rookie from Oregon has made some splash plays in camp and should be fun to watch develop under the coaching of Andre Patterson and Bryan Cox. He fits with the Giants as a three-technique with pass rush ability in sub packages. He's extremely athletic and moves well, just as you would expect a former lacrosse player to glide through drills.

    Tomon Fox, outside linebacker

Fox returns to the Giants, having spent the last two seasons on the practice squad. He's an undrafted free agent from UNC and flashed as a rookie two years ago.

    Jimmy Morrissey, center

Morrissey gives the Giants a 26-year-old center to continue working with on the PS. It'll be interesting to see how the 53-man roster shakes out and whether Austin Schlottmann sticks as John Michael Schmitz's backup when the season arrives.

    Raheem Layne, safety

Layne signed with the Giants early in camp when injuries struck the position and he flashed some in practice. He is recovering from an ACL injury last year.

    Jude McAtamney, kicker

McAtamney was primarily used as a kickoff specialist last season at Rutgers. Intriguing IPP prospect to develop in a very tight specialist group with Graham Gano, Casey Kreiter and Jamie Gillan. McAtamney He nailed his two field goal attempts in the preseason finale against the Jets.

    Joshua Miles, offensive lineman

Miles spent the summer primarily as the second-team right tackle and had an up and down preseason.

    Marcellus Johnson, offensive lineman

The undrafted rookie from Missouri kicked inside from tackle to guard and was on the right side this summer.
