Paramus Catholic and St. Peter's Prep kick off their 2024 high school seasons by facing each other on Friday night in Paramus.

The Paladins have not beaten a fellow Big Six team since 2017, but this may their golden opportunity to break that streak. The Marauders are coming in off of a 1-9 season in which their only win came against ... Paramus Catholic.

St. Peter's Prep won last year's meeting between these two teams by a 28-27 score. Paramus Catholic started last season 3-1 but the loss to the Marauders came during a seven-game losing streak to end the season.

Paramus Catholic found out earlier this week that it will compete in Non-Public B this season, while St. Peter's Prep remains in Non-Public A. The classifications were released Monday .

Paramus Catholic boasts one of the top players in the state in lineman Malachi Goodman.

Goodman, who is uncommitted, is ranked as the No. 3 recruit in New Jersey's Class of 2025, and was named to the Preseason All-New Jersey team .
