Donning a baseball hat and a black Adidas sweatshirt − not a hoodie − Bill Belichick watched a marquee high school football game between Bergen Catholic and IMG Academy on Thursday night.

Belichick, a six-time Super Bowl winning coach with the New England Patriots, watched the game from the lower level of the press box at Carey Stadium, just off the Ocean City boardwalk in the shadow of the Ferris wheel at Wonderland Pier.

The game between Bergen Catholic and IMG Academy, ranked No. 19 and No. 9, respectively, in the latest USA TODAY Super 25, was the premier game of the fourth-annual Battle at the Beach showcase.

IMG Academy prevailed, 27-14, after scoring three touchdowns in the second half .

Belichick mentioned this game back in April on the Pat McAfee Show during the first round of the NFL Draft, saying "If we want to see a great high school game next year, I'm telling you, IMG against Bergen Catholic, Aug. 29 in Ocean City, New Jersey."

The 72-year-old had time to check out some August high school football after retiring from the NFL after last season. He began coaching in the league as an assistant back in 1975.
