Things have gotten downright smurfy at Tolhouse.

Greenbar, the new cold pressed juice shop in Tolhouse, has seven varieties of its freshly squeezed designer juices, but the one called Smurfette is the favorite of both Tolhouse owner Will Lucas and coffee barista and juicer extraordinaire David Kucher.

“There’s no added sugar or anything but the Smurfette probably tastes the sweetest,” said Kucher from behind the counter at Greenbar, which shares the same space as Earth Coffeeshop.

The bar held its grand opening earlier this month, adding a new dimension to Tolhouse, which like Earth, will be totally open to the public.

“Our juices are made from fresh, wholesome stuff, squeezed gently to keep all the goodness in. No funny business added,” Greenbar said in a recent Facebook post. “Just pure raw organic and cold pressed refreshing goodness to fuel you up, straight from the inside out.”

It is no wonder then that Lucas likes the Smurfette as well.

“They are all really good, but I got to go with the Smurfette as my favorite by far,” said Lucas, over the phone.

The Smurfette contains a delicious mix of gala apple, lemon, blue spirulina, and raw honey, all churned up in an unmistakable shade of blue that does indeed resemble a Smurf from the ’80s.

“We felt there was a gap in the market for raw, organic, cold-pressed juice,” said Lucas, who founded Tolhouse as a members only social club in 2021. “You can find it out in the suburbs, but we’re the only place serving cold-pressed juice in the city.”

Other juices on the menu include the popular Palisades, which includes orange, lemon, tumeric, peppercorn water, gala apple, and carrot. For those who need a wake-up in the morning, there’s the ginger shot, featuring ginger, orange juice, tumeric, and cayenne.

“We’ve done a really great job at making something that’s good for you and tastes good, too,” said Lucas.

Greenbar is located in the side entrance of Tolhouse next to Earth. The bar’s hours will be 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Monday through Friday and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Tolhouse is located at 1447 N. Summit St. For more information, visit tolhouse.com .
