Former Springfield standout Carruthers transfers to Toledo women's basketball

Kendall Carruthers is coming home.

The former Springfield High School standout is the final piece for Ginny Boggess’ inaugural University of Toledo team.

Carruthers played at Saint Francis University in Pennsylvania during her freshman year, averaging 14.3 points, 3.4 rebounds, 2.0 assists, and just under one steal per game for the Red Flash. The 5-foot-7 guard had two 30-point games, including a career-high 32 against Wagner.

Carruthers earned All-Ohio honors as a senior, averaging 17.2 points, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists, and 3.1 steals.
