    Violations:

    Tim Horton’s , 6815 W. Central, inspected March 26. An employee re-entered the kitchen without washing their hands in the restroom. The front hand-washing sink was used improperly as a fill and dump sink.

    Tiger Lebanese Bakery , 6710 W. Central, inspected March 26. Chlorine sanitizing solution was too weak. Lasagna on top of the steam well was not hot enough.

    Summit Academy Toledo , 301 Collingwood, inspected March 26. Milks were left out at room temperature.

    Starbucks , 5231 Monroe, inspected March 26. Boxes surrounding the kitchen hand-washing sink blocked access.

    Popeye’s , 3214 Secor, inspected March 26. Fried chicken in a basket under the heat lamp was not hot enough. A pitcher and a storage container were cracked.

    Consaul Food Mart , 2625 Consaul, inspected March 26. Items were piled in front of and in the hand-washing sink.

    Netty’s , 325 S. Fearing, inspected March 27. The prep sink had an insufficient gap between its faucet and flood rim.

    IHOP , 4045 Talmadge, inspected March 27. A knife and a spatula were stored improperly in the kitchen hand-washing sink. Cut tomatoes and Hollandaise sauce in the prep-cooler and a package of turkey on the counter were too warm. A hole cut out of the pancake batter container’s lid for easy pouring made the lid difficult to clean.

    Black Rock Bar & Grill , 5001 Monroe, inspected March 27. A carton of raw shell eggs was stored above ready-to-eat food in the glass door reach-in cooler. The ice machine was dirty with black buildup. The bar’s glass washer failed to dispense sanitizer. The salad prep-top cooler’s cold rail was turned off and containers of cheese and portioned cups of sour cream were too warm. Cooked mushrooms and cheese in the chef base were too warm.

    McDonald’s , 3138 Secor, inspected March 28. The ice machine’s slide was dirty with buildup. The three-bay sink’s sprayer hose dangled below the basin’s floor rim, creating a backflow hazard.

    El Viejon Mexican Bar and Grill , 3250 Maher, inspected March 28. The person-in-charge failed to ensure employees wash their hands when required. Water was not available in the mobile kitchen during food preparation. Lack of water also prevented proper washing and sanitizing of utensils and food-contact surfaces.

    Twice-But-Nice , 2850 W. Sylvania, inspected April 1. Employees were not verifiably informed of their duty to report illnesses relevant to food safety. Expired baby food and formula was offered for sale.

    Little Asia , 3527 Dorr, inspected March 25. Egg rolls and wontons in the freezer were uncovered. Bean sprouts, chicken, and cut onions in the walk-in cooler were uncovered. A container of chicken was stored in direct contact with chicken in an uncovered pan. The slicer was dirty with food debris. The spoon in the hot oil was dirty with buildup. No foods requiring date marks had them. Live ants were beneath the three-bay sink and the cookline. There were mouse droppings by the mop sink.

    Arby’s , 1455 Secor, inspected March 18. The dish machine did not dispense sanitizer. Pop nozzles in the dining room and at the drive-up window were dirty with black buildup.

    The Flying Joe , 215 N. Summit, inspected April 2. An employee reported that employees were washing hands in the bathroom rather than at the correct hand-washing sink. A sanitizer bucket was placed improperly in the hand-washing sink.

    Teddy P’s Convenience Store , 215 N. Summit, inspected April 2. Raw eggs were stored improperly above ready-to-eat food.

    Ridis , 1646 W. Alexis, inspected April 2. Employees were not properly trained on maintaining the F’real machine, which had several failed sanitation logs. The front hand-washing sink was removed and the back room’s hand-washing sink was not being used and was blocked by boxes. Equipment and components were not being washed, rinsed, and sanitized properly. Eggs were stored incorrectly above milk in the reach-in cooler. Filthy cappuccino machine was filthy and the coffee bean carafes and condiment components were dirty.

    City Egg Restaurant , 202 N. Summit, inspected April 2. The Thunderbird mixer had debris buildup beneath its spindle.

    The Standard , 5333 Monroe, inspected April 3. A skimmer utensil was stored improperly in the hand-washing sink. Saved Shellstock tags were not dated with the last date the product was sold. The bar’s chemical dish machine did not dispense chlorine during final rinse.

    Rite Aid , 3013 Monroe, inspected April 3. Raw shell eggs in the walk-in cooler were stored incorrectly above gallon jugs of water.

    Orchard Nutrition , 2909 W. Central, inspected April 3. All hand-washing sinks were either blocked or lacked soap and paper towels. The under-counter refrigerator failed to maintain proper temperature and no one was checking it. Consumer-grade disinfectant was used improperly on the food-contact surfaces. No written procedure was in place for employee health reporting. Beverage ice was strewn about the chest freezer’s interior in contact with its surfaces.

    McDonald’s , 1540 Broadway, inspected April 3. A bread cart and a broom blocked access to the back hand-washing sink.

    Family Pantry II , 5925 Heatherdowns, inspected April 3. Raw shell eggs were stored improperly atop plastic milk crates with gallons of milk in them.

    S&G , 1223 N. Byrne, inspected April 4. The pop fountain nozzles were dirty with buildup.

    Erie Street Rocks , 117 N. Erie, inspected April 4. No sanitizer bucket was set up to wipe food-contact surfaces. The pop gun holster was dirty with black and pink slime buildup.

    Monroe Carryout , 2839 Monroe, inspected April 5. Individual cups of ice and coffee were offered for sale without having a three-bay sink or hand-washing sink for proper sanitation. Foods that are not commercially prepackaged may not be sold.

    Gas & Express Marts , 2315 N. Detroit, inspected April 5. Employee health reporting forms could not be located. A sticky-back strip of foam insulation that is absorbent and difficult to clean was installed improperly in the ice machine’s bin.

    Subway , 5821 W. Central, inspected April 9. Tuna, steak, and marinara sauce in the left side of the prep-top cooler were warm. A metal scoop was chipped. Scooping utensil with a chip out of the metal portion. Food storage containers and lids are cracked.

    Spartans Nutrition , 2039 W. Laskey, inspected April 9. The ice machine’s shield had slime buildup.

    Rosary Cathedral School , 2535 Collingwood, inspected April 9. Pears and apples arriving pre-washed from the vendor were being touched improperly with a disposable towel. Cartons of milk left out of refrigeration during lunch became too warm.

    Midtown Food Mart #2 , 2560 Dorr, inspected April 9. Stewart sandwiches lacked date marks. Disposable cups were stored incorrectly below chemicals and beauty products on the retail shelves. Foods and drinks, including potato wedges, breaded chicken wings, Capri Sun drinks, sandwich cookies, and toaster pastries lacked labels. The store was so overstocked that proper cleaning and pest detection were impossible.
