Toledo police conducting traffic enforcement blitz through Labor Day

The Toledo Police Department has stepped up its traffic law and drunken driving enforcement efforts.

The department said it’s already started a citywide traffic enforcement blitz, which will run through Sept. 2. Enforcement will be centered on busier roadways with a history of crashes and traffic complaints. Officers will focus on drunken drivers, speeders, and seat belt offenses.

The blitz coincides with the national “Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over” campaign. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration funds parts of the enforcement push, officials said.
