NAPOLEON — A Napoleon woman was killed Monday afternoon when a pickup truck drove into the back of her stopped car and pushed it into the path of an oncoming tractor-trailer near Okolona in western Henry County.

Harriet Schroeder, 90, of Napoleon, had stopped for the stop sign on southbound County Road 17-D at U.S. Route 24 when she was struck from behind by a pickup truck being driven by Christopher Borstelman, 38, of Defiance, according to the Ohio State Highway Patrol.

The impact of the crash forced Ms. Schroeder’s car onto U.S. 24, where it was struck by a westbound tractor-trailer being driven by Sanoob Saleem, 38, of Waterloo, Ont. Ms. Schroeder died at the scene. Mr. Borstelman and Mr. Saleem were treated at the scene.

Everyone involved was wearing a seat belt and alcohol is not believed to have been a factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
