Amy’s Facebook Marketplace Purchase Almost Went Horribly Wrong

Amy went to pick up a bench she got on Facebook Marketplace and drama happened.

She had been wanting to buy the bench from the actual company's website for a while, and then saw a brand-new one for sale on Facebook Marketplace for half off. She made arrangements with the seller and agreed to pick it up at 8:30 p.m. The seller then told them they would not be home at the time anymore because they were going to a movie, so they’d leave it on the porch for her to grab and then Venmo the money. It was in a nice part of town, so she had no reason to think anything was suspicious. When she arrived at the house, there was no bench on the porch and all the house lights were off. The house had a Ring Doorbell so they could see all their activity. Finally, a man came to the door in his pajamas and asked if he could help them. Amy explained she was there to pick up the bench from Facebook Marketplace and the guy had no idea what she was talking about.

Amy had already sent the seller the money and thought she got scammed, until the guy yelled back to his wife in the house and asked if she knew anything about it. The lady came to the door and explained they ended up not going to the movie and she forgot to put the bench on the porch and tell her husband about it. She then gave Amy her bench that is now sitting in her house!
