    Holiday crash claims second victim

    A crash that occurred on July 4th has claimed the lives of two people involved in the incident.
    On Thursday, William H. Moore, 69, of Higginsville, Mo. was seriously injured when the vehicle he was a passenger in struck another vehicle. He was transported to D.W. McMillan in Brewton where he succumbed to his injuries.
    On Monday, Demetrius L. Preyer, 39, of Pensacola, Fla., died from injuries sustained in the crash after being transported to D.W. McMillan Hospital.
    According to Alabama State Troopers, who are continuing to investigate the crash, the incident was reported just after 4 p.m. on July 4.
    The crash occurred when the 2017 Jeep Liberty, driven by Shirley A. Moore, 60, of Higginsville, Mo., struck the 2020 Ram 1500 driven by Preyer. After the initial collision, the Jeep was struck by a vehicle driven by Carolyn A. Albert, 55, of Atmore. Shirley Moore and Albert were transported via helicopter to Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla. Shirley Moore was not using a seat belt at the time of the crash.
    No other details have been released by ALEA officials.
