Tropical Depression Debby swept through Vermont on Friday, Aug. 9, resulting in statewide power outages from "damaging" winds and rain, Green Mountain Power reported on Saturday morning.

Despite concerns about more mass flooding, Vermont accumulated significantly less rain than during the July 10-11 storms , which pelted the town of Walden in Caledonia County with up to 7.25 inches of rain.

In contrast, most cities and towns throughout the Green Mountain State received less than 2 inches of rainfall on Friday, with few accumulating above 1.5 inches, according to a seven-day report from the National Weather Service in South Burlington .
