Ole Miss football player Zxavian Harris charged with domestic violence, obstructing arrest

OXFORD ― Ole Miss football defensive lineman Zxavian Harris has been charged with domestic violence and obstructing arrest, according to records from the Lafayette County Sheriff's Department.

Harris, 20, was charged Sunday and booked at 6:42 p.m.

The 6-foot-7, 320-pound Harris also faced charges in July 2023. Then, he was charged with driving under the influence, reckless driving, being a minor in possession, not using headlights, running a stop sign and felony fleeing.

According to the Lafayette County District Attorney's office, Harris was entered into a pre-trial intervention program for his felony fleeing charge from 2023. In response to the domestic violence charge, Harris is being removed from the program and his 2023 case will go back on the docket.

A native of Canton, Mississippi, Harris figures to be a key rotational piece on the defensive front for Ole Miss football coach Lane Kiffin and defensive coordinator Pete Golding. He made 30 tackles as a sophomore in 2023, including 3.5 tackles for loss. He also blocked a last-second Texas A&M field goal attempt that secured a 38-35 win for the Rebels over the Aggies in November.

"We were made aware of that," Kiffin said. "We're still gathering information on that. We won't have any other comment than that."
