Adam Randall’s first two years at Clemson haven’t exactly gone as planned.

Multiple injuries, including a torn ACL during the spring of his freshman season, have slowed the wideout’s development. However, as he gets set to enter his junior campaign, Randall is fully healthy for the first time in quite awhile, and quarterback Cade Klubnik insists that is showing on the practice field.

“I think he is just playing super-free. That’s the best way to say it,” Klubnik said. “He is playing so free with a nothing-to-lose mindset.”

With the injury issues now hopefully behind him, Klubnik sees a very motivated player in Randall.

“Just every time he steps on the field, the love for the game that he has, it inspires me,” Klubnik added. “We’re walking on the field and he’s just saying, ‘Man I love football. I love football.’ Just by himself. He is telling himself that, he’s not talking to me. He’s not talking to anybody.”

Despite some of the nagging injuries, Randall has pushed through, appearing in 25 games across his first two seasons and logging 32 catches for 378 yards. Although, he is still waiting to catch his first touchdown at the collegiate level.

And now that Randall is one of the elder statesmen in the receiver room, he is also embracing one of the leadership roles, and he is attempting to lead by example.

“When you have to sit out and you’re hurt… whenever you face a bigtime injury, it makes you grateful for every time you come back,” said Klubnik. “But he’s just playing free. He is just playing super-free, and the way that he is playing, he’s just playing really smart. And the way he leads those guys, in a relatively young room, he’s doing it really, really well.”
