A former Clemson standout has been waived by this NFL team.

On Friday, the Cincinnati Bengals announced that they waived 11 players , including former Tiger offensive tackle Jackson Carman.

“Carman was entering the final year of his initial four-year rookie contract and the offensive tackle didn’t help help himself by committing four penalties in the preseason opener against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers,” stated an article from WKRC in Cincinnati . “He had been taking snaps with the third string in recent practices and the final preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts on Thursday.”

A greater Cincinnati native (Fairfield, Ohio), Carman has played in 29 career games (regular and postseason) for the Bengals at guard and tackle, including eight starts.

Last season, Carman appeared in two games on special teams and as a reserve tackle, while being inactive for eight and active/DNP for seven contests.

The 6-foot-5, 322-pounder was selected by the Bengals in the second round (46th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft.

Carman declared for the NFL Draft after playing 1,934 snaps over 40 career games (27 starts) at Clemson from 2018-20.

A two-time All-ACC selection, Carman started each of the last 27 games of his college career and helped lead the Tigers to ACC titles and College Football Playoff berths in all three seasons.

A limited number of signed footballs from Clemson’s 2022 class are still available.  Get yours while supplies last!  Visit Clemson Variety & Frame or purchase online!
