"We received this video and our wolf biologists have reviewed and confirmed the validity of the video," the Facebook post read. "You can see the wolf pups deeply focused on playing with each other. Two wolves captured in Oregon and released in Colorado in late December are the parents of the pups. Monday's news is good news for wolf advocates and the state recovery plan, which calls for, at a minimum, establishing a wolf population of 150 to 200 animals over the next three to five years. Matt Barnes is a wolf advocate and rangeland and wildlife conservationist with the Northern Rockies Conservation Cooperative who sat on the state-appointed wolf recovery Stakeholders Advisory Group. Grand County rancher Conway Farrell, whose property abuts the pack's den and rendezvous site from where the pack has gathered and hunted this summer, said he and other ranchers in the area have seen three to four pups over the last two months. He believes there may be more. Farrell has been outspoken in his criticism of the way Colorado Parks and Wildlife is handling the wolf population. "We know she is teaching her pups how to kill because we have seen their marks on our sheep that were killed.
