Olentangy Orange junior Treyton Schroeder is the fans' choice for the top high school football defensive back in central Ohio. He finished first in a Dispatch poll that accompanied our look at the top 10 DBs in the Columbus area .

Schroeder received 13,726 of 25,596 votes (53.63%). Grandview Heights' Owen Nugent finished second with 5,724 votes (22.36%) and Olentangy's Kaden Gebhardt was third with 5,106 (19.95%).

Schroeder, the nephew of first-year Orange coach Wesley Schroeder, had 34 ½ tackles, seven interceptions and one sack last season. The seven interceptions matched the program record, and he set a single-game program record with two in one game. He was first-team all-district and all-OCC-Central and third-team all-state in Division I .
